Sunday of the Renewal of the Church
- St. Michael the Archangel -

Letter to the Hebrews 9,11-15.

When Christ came as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and perfect tent (not made with hands, that is, not of this creation),
he entered once for all into the Holy Place, not with the blood of goats and calves, but with his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.
For if the blood of goats and bulls, with the sprinkling of the ashes of a heifer, sanctifies those who have been defiled so that their flesh is purified,
how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to worship the living God!
For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance, because a death has occurred that redeems them from the transgressions under the first covenant.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 10,22-42.

At that time the festival of the Dedication took place in Jerusalem. It was winter,
and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the portico of Solomon.
So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, ‘How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.’
Jesus answered, ‘I have told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father’s name testify to me;
but you do not believe, because you do not belong to my sheep.
My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand.
What my Father has given me is greater than all else, and no one can snatch it out of the Father’s hand.
The Father and I are one.’
The Jews took up stones again to stone him.
Jesus replied, ‘I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these are you going to stone me?’
The Jews answered, ‘It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you, but for blasphemy, because you, though only a human being, are making yourself God.’
Jesus answered, ‘Is it not written in your law, "I said, you are gods"?
If those to whom the word of God came were called "gods" and the scripture cannot be annulled
can you say that the one whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world is blaspheming because I said, "I am God’s Son"?
If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me.
But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father.’
Then they tried to arrest him again, but he escaped from their hands.
He went away again across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing earlier, and he remained there.
Many came to him, and they were saying, ‘John performed no sign, but everything that John said about this man was true.’
And many believed in him there.

This Sunday, November 8, Mass at St. Ignatius Church will be offered to the intentions of all parishioners, and their families, as well as everyone who carries a name associated with Saint Michael, in honor of his feast day.

And we also pray for peace in Lebanon and throughout the world and for an end to violence and suffering everywhere.

We give thanks as well for the generosity of our volunteers and donors, whose support helps sustain our parish.

May God bless our priests, our parish, and all our families.

Please fill out a Mass Request form to include your family and loved ones in our Mass Intentions weekly.  The forms are found near the statue of St. Rafka.  Just drop them into the collection basket.

You can also email the parish offices with your request.

Through fun, creative, and interactive activities, we'll help our children discover the meaning of being thankful and appreciate the many blessings in their lives.

Children of all ages are welcome! As part of the activity, they'll also get creative and contribute their artwork and messages of gratitude to decorate our church's bulletin board for everyone to enjoy.

Let's help our little ones grow grateful hearts, one blessing at a time!

November Parish Charity Drive

Toys for Tots

Let's help make Christmas a little brighter for children in need! This November, St. Ignatius is partnering with Toys for Tots to collect new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children in our local community.

We invite our parish families to take part by choosing a gift they would be happy to give to their own children or loved ones and donating it to this wonderful cause. Gifts for children of all ages, including pre-teens, are welcome.

Please remember that all donations must be new and unwrapped. Food items and realistic-looking weapons cannot be accepted.

Donation Deadline: December 1, 2026
Drop-off Location: St. Ignatius Church, 50 Nutt Rd, Washington Township, OH 45458

For questions or more information, please contact Trish or Cindy.

Thank you for your generosity and for helping bring a little extra joy to children this Christmas!

Join us to celebrate all November birthdays as a community
on Sunday the 29th after both Masses.

Please text Pascale at 937-951-0969
to share the names of those celebrating this month.

We would like to recognize and celebrate the birthdays and wedding anniversaries of our parish family.

You will find a sign-up sheet on St. Rafka’s table in the church hallway. Please fill it out with your name and your family members’ names, along with their birthdays and anniversary dates.

We'd like to celebrate everyone together at the beginning or end of each month. This way all names can be included in the Mass intentions, and we can celebrate them together afterwards as one parish family rather than having a cake every week.

If you prefer, you may also text Pascale at 937-951-0969 with the same information.

In the Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles, there are 42 parishes and missions across 38 states in our diocese.  The Eparchy represents our family of Maronite faithful and a local church is but one part pf that larger community.  Picture the Eparchy like a Rosary that is interconnected and we need each other's support and unity to flourish.

Vision for the Future, Mission for Today is a capital campaign to raise money in the short term (3 to 5 years) to support an Endowment Fund for future use.  For a Maronite Catholic diocese or parish, this refers to gifts and pledges over and above parishioner's regular giving to the Sunday collection or annual appeals.

OUR LADY OF LEBANON OF LOS ANGELES EPARCHY

THE JUBILEE PRAYER

Father in heaven, may the faith you have given us in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother, and the flame of charity enkindled in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, reawaken in us the blessed hope for the coming of your Kingdom. May your grace transform us into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel. May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos in the sure expectation of a new heaven and a new earth, when, with the powers of Evil vanquished, your glory will shine eternally. May the grace of the Jubilee reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope, a yearning for the treasures of heaven. May that same grace spread the joy and peace of our Redeemer throughout the earth. To you our God, eternally blessed, be glory and praise for ever. Amen

There is a donation box at St. Ignatius for your donations to aid our seminarians.  Any donation to assist these men in their priestly journey is greatly appreciated.
